These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Innovative Global Impact website, any donation you make through it, and your subscription to our communications. By using the website, making a donation or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. Introduction and acceptance
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at innovativeglobalimpact.org and its pages, forms and services (the “Website”), any donation you make to Innovative Global Impact through the Website or other online channels, and your subscription to IGI’s newsletter and other communications.
In these Terms, “IGI”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Innovative Global Impact, a nonprofit organization registered in the United States and recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 88-1267124). “You” and “your” mean any person who visits or uses the Website or makes a donation.
By using the Website, making a donation or subscribing to our communications, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
2. Definitions

- Content — all text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, data, reports and other material on the Website.
- Designated donation — a donation made to a specific Campaign.
- Donation platform — the online donation forms on the Website and the secure third-party payment services connected to them.
- General donation — a donation made to support IGI’s work as a whole.
- Monthly donation — a recurring donation charged automatically once a month until you cancel it.
- Personal information — information that identifies you, such as your name, email address, postal address or payment details.
3. About IGI and the information on the Website
- IGI works to reduce poverty by building sustainable local economies through education, entrepreneurship and access to opportunity. Our current programs are in Afghanistan.
- We aim to keep the information on the Website accurate and up to date. Program plans, timelines, locations and figures may change as our work develops — for example in response to security conditions, community needs or funding.
- Where the Website describes planned results or pilots in development, these are goals, not guarantees. Baseline figures for our pilots are being established with our field partners and are published as each pilot launches.
- Content on the Website is provided for general information. It is not legal, financial or tax advice.
4. Use of the Website
Permitted use
You may use the Website for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes: to learn about IGI, make donations, subscribe to our communications, contact us and share our pages with others.
Prohibited use
When using the Website you must not:
- Break any applicable law or regulation, or use the Website for any fraudulent purpose, including making donations with payment details you are not authorized to use.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its servers or any connected system, or interfere with its security or operation.
- Introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful code.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy or collect Content or personal information from the Website.
- Submit content that is false, defamatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, obscene or that infringes anyone else’s rights.
- Impersonate IGI, its staff or any other person, or falsely claim to be connected with IGI.
- Use the Website to send unsolicited advertising or spam.
IGI may suspend or restrict access to the Website, or to any part of it, at any time, for example for maintenance or security reasons.
5. Intellectual property
- The Website and its Content, including the IGI name, logo and brand, are owned by or licensed to IGI and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
- You may view, print and share Website pages for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided that you do not change them and that you credit IGI.
- You may share links to the Website and IGI’s social media posts freely.
- You may not use the IGI name or logo, or suggest that IGI endorses you, your organization, a product or a fundraising activity, without IGI’s prior written permission.
- Anyone who wishes to fundraise on IGI’s behalf must obtain IGI’s written approval first, and all funds raised must be paid directly to IGI.
6. Photographs and stories of the people we serve
IGI tells real stories using real photographs from the communities we work with. These images and stories are shared with the informed consent of the people shown and in line with IGI’s safeguarding standards. To protect their dignity, privacy and safety:
- You may not copy, download, edit, repost or reuse photographs, videos or stories of program participants, including children, for any purpose without IGI’s written permission.
- You may not use these images in a way that could identify, locate, embarrass or endanger the people shown.
- If you believe that an image or story on the Website should be removed for someone’s safety or privacy, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
7. Donations
General
- All donations are voluntary gifts. IGI does not provide goods or services in return for a donation unless this is clearly stated at the time of giving.
- Donations made through the Website are processed in U.S. dollars. If you give from outside the United States, your bank or card provider may apply its own exchange rate and fees.
- You may give any amount you choose, as a one-time or a monthly donation.
- By making a donation, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian, and that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.
Payment processing and security
- Online donations are processed securely through the donation platform and its third-party payment processors, which are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
- Payment card details are handled by the payment processor. IGI does not store full payment card numbers on the Website.
- IGI is not responsible for delays or failures caused by payment processors, banks or card issuers.
Tax receipts and deductibility
- After each donation you receive a receipt by email, containing the information the U.S. Internal Revenue Service requires for charitable contributions.
- Donations to IGI are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law. IGI cannot advise on your individual tax position — please consult your tax adviser.
- Donors outside the United States should check whether they can receive tax relief in their own country, as this is determined by local law.
- Please keep your receipt. If you lose it, contact us and we will send a copy.
How donations are used
- General donations are used where they are most needed to carry out IGI’s charitable mission.
- Designated donations are used for the Campaign you chose. If that Campaign is fully funded, delayed or can no longer go ahead, IGI will contact you to agree a new use for your gift or to offer you a refund.
- IGI manages all donations in line with its Finance Policy, which includes internal controls, independent reconciliation and compliance with U.S. sanctions law.
Monthly donations
- A monthly donation is charged automatically on or around the same date each month, using the payment method you provided, until you cancel it.
- You may change the amount or cancel a monthly donation at any time by emailing admin@innovativeglobalimpact.org, or through any link provided in your donation receipt.
- Cancellation takes effect before the next scheduled payment if we receive your request at least three working days before that date.
- If a monthly payment fails, we may try again or contact you to update your payment details.
Refunds
- Because donations are gifts, they are generally not refundable.
- If a donation was made in error — for example the wrong amount, a duplicate payment or an unauthorized payment — please contact us within 30 days of the donation. We will refund it to the original payment method.
- When a donation is refunded, the related tax receipt is no longer valid.
- Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, so we can resolve the matter quickly.
Donations IGI may decline or return
IGI may decline or return a donation if it appears to be fraudulent, comes from a person or organization subject to U.S. or United Nations sanctions, comes from an unlawful source, carries conditions that conflict with IGI’s mission or values, or could harm IGI’s reputation or the safety of the people we serve.
Donor recognition
IGI does not publish the names of donors without their permission. You may choose to give anonymously. If you agree to be recognized, we will use your name only in the way you have agreed.
8. Newsletter and communications
- If you subscribe to our newsletter or agree to receive updates, we will send you news about IGI’s work, campaigns and results by email.
- Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing us. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop the donation receipts and service messages we must send.
- We will not share your email address with other organizations for their own marketing.
9. Information you send us
- When you contact us through the Website contact form, by email or on social media, you agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you are entitled to share it.
- If you send ideas, suggestions or feedback, IGI may use them to improve its work without any obligation to you.
- If you wish to raise a complaint or a concern about misconduct, fraud or the safety of anyone connected with IGI’s work, IGI will handle it confidentially under its Complaints and Feedback Mechanism. You may do so anonymously.
- Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as health or financial details, through the contact form.
10. Privacy and personal information

- To answer your messages and handle complaints.
- To keep financial records and meet our legal, tax and sanctions compliance obligations.
- To improve the Website and understand how it is used.
Sharing and protection
- IGI never sells, rents or trades personal information.

- We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, and allow access only to staff who need it.
- We keep donation records for at least seven years, as required for financial and tax purposes, and other personal information only as long as needed.
Your choices
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to stop sending you communications or, where the law allows, to delete it. Please email admin@innovativeglobalimpact.org.
11. Cookies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, such as those needed for the donation forms, and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Website. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Website, including the donation forms, works.
12. Children
The Website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. IGI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party websites and services
The Website may contain links to, or embedded content from, third-party websites and services, such as social media platforms, payment processors and video or map providers. IGI does not control these services and is not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies.
14. Disclaimer
The Website and its Content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, IGI makes no warranties, express or implied, that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that the Content is complete or current. Nothing in these Terms excludes any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IGI, its directors, officers, staff and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Website, or from reliance on its Content. IGI’s total liability to you in connection with a donation is limited to the amount of that donation. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for any liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify IGI against any claim, loss or cost, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Website.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
18. Changes to these Terms
IGI may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law, our donation platform or our work. The updated Terms will be published on the Website with a new effective date. Changes do not affect donations made before the change. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
19. General provisions and contact
- Entire agreement: these Terms are the entire agreement between you and IGI about your use of the Website and online donations.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.
- No waiver: if IGI does not enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean IGI has waived that right.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms. IGI may transfer its rights and obligations to a successor organization.
- Language: these Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails.
